Adaptive Sediment Management Program Final Report for the Elwha River Restoration Project

This technical report documents final results from six years of an interagency, adaptive sediment management program for the removal of Elwha and Glines Canyon dams including: (1) physical changes to the reservoirs and downstream river channel resulting from dam removal, (2) effects of dam removal on downstream water quality (sediment loads) and flood stage, (3) dam removal and reservoir drawdown methods (Appendix A), (4) modeling accomplished to support the EIS and adaptive management program (Appendix B), (5) dam operational effects on downstream discharge prior to dam removal (Appendix C), and (6) a literature review on potential effects of dam removal on the City of Port Angeles Ranney Well (Appendix D).
