S&T Project 23065 Data: 3D Scanning Data for Roof Panel
This dataset contains four structured text files representing geometric scan data collected during the evaluation of advanced manufacturing methods for reproducing legacy roof panels at the Morrow Point Powerplant. These include: Binder Jet 1, Binder Jet 2, Half Panel Scan, and the Robot formed panel. Each file consists of comma delimited XYZ point cloud coordinates with no header row in Inches. Together, these files document the measured geometry of original roof panel segments and fabricated test samples. Binder Jet Print 1.txt and Binder Jet Print 2.txt provide point cloud measurements of two stainless steel/bronze binder jet printed samples. These datasets capture dimensional differences caused by printing and sintering processes and were used to assess print consistency, shrinkage, and surface fidelity. Half Panel Scan Point Cloud.txt contains a detailed scan of the underside of an original legacy half panel. This file documents the as found geometry, including corrugation shapes, curvature, and service related deformation. Robot Formed Panel Scan Point Cloud.txt contains scan data for an incremental sheet formed (ISF) steel panel produced as a candidate replacement. These points capture the formed geometry, including corrugation depth, overall curvature, and deviations relative to both the legacy geometry and the forming model. These files provide the measurement level data necessary for dimensional analysis, model validation, geometric comparison, and quality assessment of both legacy and manufactured roof panel components.
