Yellowtail Afterbay is formed by Yellowtail Afterbay Dam, constructed on the Bighorn River 2.2 miles downstream from Yellowtail Dam. They are part of the Yellowtail Unit of the Pick-Sloan Missouri Basin Program and are located approximately 45 miles southeast of Billings, Montana.
