Black Canyon Reservoir, Diversion Dam, and Powerplant (EMM)

Black Canyon Diversion Dam, on the Payette River near Emmett, Idaho, is a concrete gravity type dam with an ogee overflow spillway and was originally constructed from 1922 to 1924. The dam serves to divert water to the Payette Division through Black Canyon Canal. The two unit powerplant supplies power to irrigation loads in the Boise, Owyhee, and Minidoka Projects as part of Reclamation's Southern Idaho Power System. Columbia Basin Teletype (CBTT) = EMM.
