S&T Project 19188 Interim Report: Guide for Recoating and Relining Penstocks and Discharge Tubes

Reclamation’s assets are aging—most are over 60 years old and the original coatings and linings are at varying stages of degradation. This guide is for recoating or relining projects for penstocks, discharge tubes, or similar infrastructure. Coatings and linings are the primary means for providing corrosion protection. A few penstocks have already been recoated or relined since original construction at Reclamation. The knowledge and experience gained from these projects provide the foundation for this guide. In addition, communication with other agencies regarding their projects has provided additional guidance and experiences to contribute to this guide.
