S&T Project 1877 Final Report: Cost Modeling of Membrane Desalination Processes Using Reclamation's WaTER model

This project utilized a combination of laboratory research and computer-based cost modeling with Reclamation’s water treatment estimation routine (WaTER) to evaluate alternative processes for a drinking water treatment plant. The treatment trains evaluated were Electrocoagulation – Membrane Filtration – Nanofiltration and Membrane Filtration-Nanofiltration, which were compared to the current process of Coagulation with Alum – Media Filtration – Electrodialysis Reversal.
