S&T Project 24057 Data: Accelerated Weathering and Mechanical Testing Data

This dataset contains mechanical performance data for ten geomembrane materials evaluated before and after accelerated weathering. The study established baseline (pre-weathered) mechanical performance and evaluated changes following exposure to three accelerated weathering mechanisms representing important degradation pathways encountered by geomembranes during field service: freeze–thaw cycling, ultraviolet (UV) exposure, and heat aging. Each material was tested at baseline for tensile properties, tear resistance, puncture resistance, and abrasion resistance. Following baseline testing, specimens were exposed to the selected accelerated weathering conditions and then retested using the same mechanical test methods. The resulting data allows for comparison of pre- and post-weathering mechanical performance and characterization of changes associated with each weathering mechanism. The data can then be used as an indicator of field performance for different service environments.
