S&T Project 24057: Laboratory Investigation of Commonly Used Geomembrane Liner Materials
This study evaluated ten geomembrane materials through baseline mechanical testing (tensile, tear, puncture, and abrasion testing) to establish pre-weathered performance data. Following baseline data collection, three accelerated weathering mechanisms (freeze–thaw cycling, UV exposure, and heat aging) were utilized to expose each material to the dominant field degradation pathways geomembranes encounter during field service. All weathered specimens were then retested using the same baseline mechanical methods.
