S&T Project 19290 Model Data: Hydraulics Files
A two-dimensional (2D) vegetation model study analyzed the expected vegetation lifecycle and dynamics in response to the BDA Pilot Realignment Project (see accompanying report). A vegetation module within the SRH-2D hydrodynamic model simulates changes to the vegetation distribution in the project area through germination, establishment, and mortality. We analyzed the response of four species to three annual hydrographs that represent wet, average, and dry conditions.
In this folder are the model simulation files which includes all content necessary to reproduce the results of the study.
Within subfolder “HYDRAULICS” are model simulation files corresponding to steady-state hydraulic modeling, for a range of flow rates, in order to produce a calculated distribution of roughness as a function of presumed vegetative conditions. The roughness calculation routines were tested using different algorithms (Baptist, Jarvela, Kouwen) and compared to the case of user-calibrated roughness.
Users and interested parties should reference the accompanying report for further information on how the model and simulation cases were developed and analyzed.
