  • RISE Release 2.15.4

    RISE Release 2.15.4 was deployed on October 29, 2025. It was a minor release addressing seven tickets, including one change to metadata files, one change to the RISE API, and one software upgrade, two bug fixes, and two changes to the Data Admin UI. The change to metadata files corrected two formatting issues that caused problems with harvest of RISE metadata to the Department of the Interior’s data inventory. The change to the RISE API added detailed documentation of API endpoints and endpoint parameters, including descriptions for all endpoints and parameters, plus default values, minimum values, maximum values, and examples for parameters where applicable. The RISE Data Admin UI was upgraded to Drupal version 10.4.6. Two bugs were also fixed, addressing an issue with options in one of the Catalog Item List filters and the behavior of tag fields, and two changes were made, addressing confusing dropdown menu options for time zones and automatically refreshing tags after users make edits.   • RISE Release 2.15.3

    RISE Release 2.15.3 was deployed on August 13, 2025. It was a minor release addressing 20 tickets, including four changes to the RISE website, two changes to metadata files, one change to the RISE API, one change to the Reservoir Conditions visualization page, one change to the map interface, and six bug fixes and five changes to the Data Admin UI. Changes to the RISE website include enabling the use of Boolean operators in searches on the catalog and time series query pages, fixing how minus operators work in searches, and fixing display of the API documentation on mobile devices. Changes to metadata includes the addition of DCAT-US 1.1 metadata files for RISE items to support the Department of the Interior’s data inventory and changes to RISE ISO metadata file options. The change to the RISE API replaces code annotations with attributes to prepare for API platform upgrades. The change to the Reservoir Conditions visualization page adds a link to the csv file containing the data for the visualizations. The change to the map interface replaces the Watershed Boundaries layer with a new version that shows watershed boundaries at higher zoom levels. Bug fixes and changes in the Data Admin UI include fixing errors with breadcrumb links, fixing inaccurate times associated with the Catalog Item First Publication Date, ensuring that users’ datasets appear in the My RISE Datasets section of the home page, fixing multiple issues with Data Admin UI forms, fixing errors that occurred when users tried to login on multiple tabs after being automatically logged out due to inactivity, and fixing typos and clarifying instructions on forms.   • RISE Release 2.15.2

    RISE Release 2.15.2 was deployed on June 4, 2025. It is a minor release addressing 5 issues, including 2 bug fixes on the RISE website, 1 change affecting both the RISE website and map interface, and 2 bug fixes to the Data Admin UI. RISE website bug fixes included removing logic that caused catalog item titles displayed under the accordion on Catalog and Time Series Query page search results to be abbreviated and fixing the ‘Modeled/Observed’ field on Catalog Item details pages to display either “Modeled” or “Observed”. On the RISE website and Map Interface, the mini map zoom level on RISE Catalog Record Details pages, Location Details pages and the RISE map interface was adjusted so users can see both the pin and other surrounding features. On the Data Admin UI, an issue with form field validation was resolved and an error on the Parameter Edit Form was fixed so users no longer receive an error when clicking “update.” See Release Notes for more details.

    RISE Release 2.15.1 was deployed on February 7 and February 14, 2025. It is a patch release that includes three bug fixes to the RISE website and an update to improve search engine optimization. The RISE website bug fixes included resolution of an issue that prevented Help page search from returning results, resolution of an issue that prevented file gallery pages from displaying a list of files, and resolution of an issue that prevented users from seeing values of a hovered point on time series plots. The search engine optimization change prevents search engines from crawling RISE map interface urls that are not useful to index due the interactive nature of the map interface.   • RISE Release 2.15.0

    RISE Release 2.15.0 was deployed on December 11, 2024. It is minor release that includes 37 issues, including 5 bugs and 2 changes to the RISE Website; 1 bug and 4 changes to the Map Interface; 3 bugs and 18 changes to the Data Admin UI; 3 changes to the API, and 1 change to the CSV to JSON Data Converter. Changes to the RISE website include implementation of relevance sort ordering and search logic improvements on the Catalog and Time Series Query pages and improvements to date range fields on the time series query page to correct a bug, improve visual representation, and enhance mobile compatibility. Changes on the Map Interface include implementation of a new version of the Map Interface that is being deployed for beta testing. Changes to the Data Admin UI include improvements to various form fields to improve consistency and ease of use and implementation of automatic session termination after 15 minutes of inactivity to comply with security requirements.   • RISE Release 2.14.4

    RISE Release 2.14.4 was deployed on October 2, 2024. It is a patch release that includes one bug fix for the Data Admin UI and two modifications to the code for the Reservoir Conditions visualizations. The Data Admin UI bug fix resolves errors that occurred when a user was attempting to assign catalog items to publication file sets where the file set and the catalog item have the same ID number. The two modifications to the code for the Reservoir Conditions visualizations support testing and troubleshooting of the code that retrieves reservoir storage values from the RISE API.   • RISE Release 2.14.3

    RISE Release 2.14.3 was deployed on August 2, 14, and 20, 2024. It is a patch release that addresses 1 issue with the Reservoir Conditions page that included two groups of changes to the code that generates the teacup images and PDF maps for the reservoir conditions visualizations and a separate set of changes to the Reservoir Conditions page content. The release was split into three deployments to appropriately sequence the changes. See the Release Notes for more details.

    RISE Release 2.14.2 was deployed on August 7, 2024. It is a patch release that addresses 1 issue with the RISE API. Filter fields were added to the Results endpoint of the RISE API to allow results to be filtered by location IDs, parameter IDs, and whether the result is observed or modeled.     RISE Release 2.12.0 was deployed on April 19, 2023. It is a minor release that addresses 33 issues, including four bugs and three changes to the RISE website, one bug on the RISE Map Interface, one change to the RISE database, 19 changes to the Data Admin User Interface, one change to Data Acquisition, and two bug fixes and two changes to the RISE API. Bug fixes on the RISE Website include fixing a problem with application of default dates to outputs on the Time Series Query page and fixing a problem with the Displayed Date Range on time series plots on the Time Series Query page. The bug fix to the Map Interface fixed a problem with the Add Reference Data widget not showing any reference data options. Changes to the RISE Data Admin UI included updating field instructions, providing an easy way to access information about catalog items associated with catalog records, and preventing fields from cutting off visibility of long values. Changes to Data Acquisition included many enhancements to the RISE CSV to JSON Converter tool use to create JSON files for ingesting time series data into RISE. Bug fixes to the API included fixing a CORS issue that prevented the API from being accessed by applications hosted on non-RISE servers and fixing an issue with the locationID not updating in the Results endpoint when the location of the associated catalog record was changed.     RISE Release 2.2.0 was deployed on December 7, 2020. RISE Release 2.2.0 is a minor release that addresses 18 issues, including three bug fixes and four enhancements on the RISE website, two bug fixes and seven enhancements to the Data Administration User Interface, and two enhancements to the Content Administration Interface. Bugs that were fixed on the RISE website included an issue with search result paging, an incorrect breadcrumb link, and two problems with the mini-map on the catalog record details pages. Enhancements to the RISE website included auto-refreshing the search result order when the user changes the “Order by” selection and specifying the order of location coordinates. Enhancements to the Data Administration User Interface included conditionally requiring and displaying fields on the form for adding items based on the selection of item structure and enabling selection of related locations. Enhancements on the Content Administration Interface added a display for file galleries and simplified linking between content.

Bugs that were fixed on the RISE website included a problem with the contact form, missing filter options on the catalog and query pages, and poor performance on the catalog and query pages.     RISE Release 2.1.0 is a minor release. It addresses 21 issues, including three bug fixes and one enhancement to the RISE website and 17 improvements to the internal Data Administration User Interface. Bugs fixes on the RISE website consisted of fixing multiple problems with the CAPTCHA on the Contact Us page, fixing errors with data downloads from the query page, and preventing the Query Data button from being active when no data is available for query. Enhancements to the Data Administration User interface include adding review process functionality and workflows, multiple improvements to form fields, and changes to submission options for forms.   • RISE Public Launch

    RISE is now publicly accessible! Previously, only users on the Department of Interior network had access to RISE. Now the site is publicly accessible and available for all to access data.

    Note that RISE is replacing the Reclamation Water Information System (RWIS), located at water.usbr.gov. RWIS will be unavailable after September 30th, 2020. RWIS users should transition to RISE data services to avoid a disruption in service. Please contact the RISE team with any questions about transitioning from RWIS to RISE.

  • RISE Release 2.0.0

    RISE Release 2.0.0 is now available! This release addresses 27 issues, including three bug fixes and thirteen enhancements to the RISE website and eleven improvements to the internal Data Administration User Interface. Bugs fixes include a bug with JSON file downloads from the query page, a missing icon on the map interface, and a problem with the CAPTCHA on the Contact Us page. Enhancements to the RISE website include improvements to file downloads from the query page to include additional contextual information and better error messaging, improvements to the query page to only show items that have time series data available for query, and enabling download of geospatial data via the RISE Geospatial Open Data ArcGIS Online site. Enhancements to the Data Administration User interface include enabling auto-complete for tags, allowing additional file types for binary uploads, and numerous improvements to the Add Item form.

    RISE Release 1.3.0 is now available. It addresses 38 issues, including a number of enhancements to the query tool, plotting, main page layout, and display of item details. Version 1.3.0 also includes significant development on the data administration user interface, which supports the management, review, and publication of data in RISE. This functionality will be available in release 2.0.

  • RISE Release 1.2.0

    RISE Release 1.2.0 is now available. It addresses 23 issues, including four bug fixes, a number of minor enhancements to the map interface, query page, and catalog, and three improvements to content management. Bugs that were fixed include a problem with location tags not displaying in the catalog, a problem with the storage of database coordinates, a problem with storage of some location types, and a problem with the date displayed for announcements. Minor enhancements include displaying widget help information on the map interface, displaying available date ranges for time series items on the query page, and improving readability of plots generated with the query page.

  • RISE Release 1.1.0

    RISE Release 1.1.0 is now available. It is a minor release that addresses six issues, including four high priority issues and two low priority issues. High priority issues include two changes to the RISE database parameter table, the addition of a filter for DOI unified regions on the map interface, and fixing the destination URL for the “Back to RISE” widget on the map .

    RISE Release 1.0.0 was deployed in December 2019 at data.usbr.gov for access to those on the DOI network. This release of RISE is targeted towards internal users and current RWIS users for review and testing. It includes basic versions of most planned system components and data from some of our early adopter data stewards.

    Additional datasets will be added over the coming weeks and months.

    Future RISE releases will enhance the existing system components and add additional functionality (e.g. saved searches and queries).

  • The first release of the Reclamation Information Sharing Environment will be available in mid-December.

    RISE Release 1.0.0 will be deployed in mid-December 2019. This release will provide access to selected datasets through the RISE catalog, query interface, and map interface.
