Harry Strunk Lake and Medicine Creek Dam are located in the high plains area of southwestern Nebraska. It is part of the Frenchman-Cambridge Division of the Pick-Sloan Missouri Basin Program, which provides storage to irrigate 66,090 acres of project lands, flood control, fish and wildlife conservation, and recreation along the Republican River and its three tributaries, the Frenchman River, and Red Willow and Medicine Creeks.
